Frequently Asked Questions
"What if it's too remote?"
Although we are in a peaceful secluded location, we are in easy reach of the local transport network and located in between Axminster and Chard in the small hamlet of Tytherleigh on the borders of Devon, Somerset and Dorset - a great location for exploring the south-west. We are just a short ten minute walk from the Tytherleigh Arms - an award-winning pub with delicious food. The neighbouring village of Chardstock and the Tytherleigh Farm Shop are also in walking distance. The town of Axminster is just ten minutes drive away, where there are local shops and amenities and a railway station with rail links to Exeter and London.
"Is it too small?"
The accommodation is cosy but not cramped! It's perfect for solo travellers or couples.
What facilities are there?
You will have a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a separate living/dining room with cooking facilities. There is a comfortable sofa and fold away table and chairs for dining inside. A smart TV is provided and there is free WiFi.
For cooking there is a combination oven/microwave, a fridge, a portable two-ring induction hob, a kettle, toaster and sink. Nice and easy to cook your own dinner or warm something up after a day’s exploring.
The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, bedside tables and a small set of drawers/shelves to store clothes and any personal items and hooks with hangers for coats and clothes. The cabin has heating in the bedroom and living area and a heated towel rail in the bathroom, making it nice and warm and cosy even on a cold winter’s day. There is also a clothes airer, in case you need to dry off any clothes.
Outside you will have your own patio and deck area with table and chairs for dining outside, all with beautiful views across the Axe Valley. The accommodation is within our large garden, but is separate from the house with complete privacy. There is plenty of room to park on the drive and from there you will walk along a gravel path to your outdoor seating area, deck and entrance through a sliding door and into your accommodation.
There is a covered space out on the deck for muddy boots and hooks to hang coats.
“Can I come solo?”
